In this conversation, Brannvall reflects on the personal and historical significance of her artistic practice - both as an outlet for catharsis and as a tool for preserving materials, perspectives, and narratives that would otherwise be overlooked by dominant political and institutional forces.

In partnership with Local Color, we’ve invited muralist Tomas ‘Wisper’ Talamantes into the museum for a dynamic look into his creative process. Wisper will create an original mural at the museum, exploring the untold stories, people, events, and variety of cultures that have contributed to Los Gatos and its surrounding areas. During three live sessions, visitors will enjoy the special opportunity to see Wisper in action and learn about his creative process and philosophy. Wisper will start his mural in this first live session.

We will begin with an artist talk with Russell Crotty in our main gallery, followed by a panel discussion with Tracy Fish, Dr. Kerry Rohrmeier + Dr. Jan English-Lueck examining the reach of Silicon Valley into the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, and ending with a chance to mingle and observe the full moon through telescopes on our patio.
