Join us for a night of firsts! We’ll spend this special evening celebrating two of our latest projects featuring two dynamic Bay Area Artists. We’ll be celebrating the completion of our first mural and revealing the 2024 Director’s Circle artwork commission - our first ever sculpture. We’ll also be joined by our Director Circle Alumni artist network.
Since 2015, each year NUMU has commissioned a Bay Area artist to create a limited edition artwork for our Director’s Circle Members; in addition one of the works is accessioned into our permanent collection. This year we’re honored to have our first sculpture as a part of the series created by Kiana Honarmand. Born and raised in Iran; her work addresses issues related to her cultural identity, violation of women's rights in Iran, censorship, surveillance, and the Western perception of her SWANA identity.
In partnership with Local Color, NUMU commissioned our first mural! Over the course of 4 months, artist Tomas ‘Wisper’ Talamantes has created a 5-panel mural exploring the untold stories, people, events, and variety of cultures that have contributed to Los Gatos and its surrounding areas. We’ll also be revealing a short documentary about this project that was created by videographer Jezreal Gandara.
This will be a fun dynamic evening showcasing the talents of our amazing artist community. Please join us to celebrate!
