Indigo Dye Drop-In Workshop
Friday, July 14 | 1pm-5pm | Ages 13+
$25 Members, $30 General, includes materials
Explore the basics of dyeing indigo, learn new techniques for folding, twisting, tying and clamping fabric, then practice creating patterns and varying color depth, and your designs will be completely individual. Each participant will be provided with one yard of muslin, however participants are encouraged to bring their own un-dyed cotton, linen, or silk fabrics as well, including t-shirts and napkins. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting messy, as indigo will permanently stain fabrics.
Zoë Umholtz is a graduate of the Oregon College of Art and Craft in Portland Oregon majoring in Fiber Arts. She has been living in California for the past three years, and has been rediscovering her love for natural indigo dyeing and working with small, local communities.
No pre-registration is required for this class, which is offered every second and fourth Friday of each month. This class is suitable for beginners as well as more advanced participants.
