Cynthia Brannvall's work explores themes of identity, geographical origins, and migrations. This Identity Mapping Collage Workshop invites you to share your origins and the places that have shaped who you are today by making your personal identity continent collage. Cut out the states, countries, or continents, snap and print a picture from your phone, and let your creativity be your guide.

Hike the Los Gatos Creek Trail with NUMU and Santa Clara County Parks, then join us at the museum for a tour of our exhibition, The Hiking Club: A Vocabulary of Yearning. Meet us at NUMU at 9:30, or at the trailhead, located at the Highway 17 overpass, at 10.

Offered each season, this free-of-cost program features expert guest speakers and weekly “homework” activities that include neighborhood walks, stargazing, and nature journaling. Park interpreters facilitate the sessions and cultivate a community of homegrown naturalists.

Participants receive a certificate for completing the course, and a custom pin for completing a service project that benefits their family, neighborhood, local plants, or wildlife. County Parks staff feel inspired and grateful for the passion and curiosity that participants have contributed to each course.

This crewelwork pincushion motif was inspired by the May Morris-designed bed hangings on William Morris’s bed at Kelmscott Manor. It incorporates the Rose Wreath Panel, designed by William Morris and stitched by May. The pincushion was created using crewel wool on a linen ground and stitched in the authentic fashion of May Morris.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to celebrate your family’s diversity through art and history activities led by community partners from Los Gatos and the wider Bay Area. NUMU is excited to partner with the Vivace Youth Chorus to bring music to the museum and Los Gatos families. This Family Musical Workshop will be led by Katherine Carmona Arbelaz and feature fun and engaging folk songs with rhythm and movement activities.

Get to know both the New Museum of Los Gatos and the Los Gatos Library in this fun event. We will discover the art of college together by admiring picture book illustrations that employ the use of collage, by touring the Museum's art exhibitions, and finally, making our own collage art in the Museum's lounge.
