It’s been too long! Let’s COFFEE TAWK again!

Tawking just got a whole lot easier! Although we remain temporarily closed, we have enjoyed welcoming everyone back virtually for some quality chatter time in the galleries. Join us every month for online tours of our current exhibitions, conversations with local collectors and enthusiasts, interviews with exhibiting artists, and other cool fun stuff.

Join NUMU Curator, Julie Ericsson and exhibiting artist, Lauryl Gaumer for a conversation of our current installation of In the Artists Studio. Lauryl is a metalsmith, glassblower and jeweler. In this edition of Coffee Tawk, we’ll explore concepts relating to the female experience embedded in her work through her artistic fields.

Lauryl’s (Un)Wearable series fuses these ornate ancient crafts to broach sometimes painful conversations about expectations of beauty, feminism, power, and self-worth. The adornments she has styled combine materials that simultaneously project strength and fragility, inspiring the viewer to imagine how it would feel to be in the position of the wearer.

Major support for NUMU's virtual programs and events provided by Badger Meter, Inc. With additional program support from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
