POST protects open space on the Peninsula and in the South Bay for the benefit of all. Since its founding in 1977, POST has protected more than 86,000 acres of permanent open space, farms, and parkland in San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties. This includes lands in the Los Gatos area, such as Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve, Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve, and other nearby areas in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This work is thanks to the support of thousands of community members who share POST's mission of taking care of our land, air, and water so that people and wildlife can continue to thrive.
