Join New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) and Mosaic America in celebrating community and the voices and accomplishments of high school artists featured in ArtNow 2023: Unarmed Truth, NUMU's 12th Annual Santa Clara County High School Exhibition. This family-friendly event will include live music and performances outside, curated by Mosaic America, art making, refreshments, and a chance to explore the exhibition in the museum.
Experience the inspiring work of 83 talented artists from 23 high schools across Santa Clara County. This year, NUMU invited students to create an original work of art that reveals a personal or universal truth. We asked teens to find inspiration from leaders and social movements that have helped us understand, embody, or uphold a hidden truth as a community. We asked them to share what's below their surface, guided by these inspiring words:

Mosaic America invites the community to envision and work towards creating a mosaic of American cultures, weaving a thread of authentic representation through history, identities, and cultures. Join us as dancers, musicians, and poets of Silicon Valley take us on an evocative journey through an American Mosaic.

ArtNow is an annual juried Santa Clara County high school art exhibition and educational program, presented by New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU). The ArtNow Exhibition and supporting programs offer opportunities for high school student artists, from Palo Alto to Gilroy, to gain real-world experience in participating in a juried museum exhibition. Each year, a new theme is chosen for the exhibition and students are asked to submit works based on that theme. $10,000 in scholarships and awards are given to participating students.
Applications to the 2023 ArtNow exhibition are open to all Santa Clara County high school students, grades 9-12, public, private, and homeschooled. The exhibition opens to the public on March 31, 2023. A professional development scholarship, and cash awards in several categories, including painting, watercolor and drawing, sculpture, and video art will be awarded at the opening reception.
