ArtNow Teen Council

The ArtNow Teen Council is an internship program available to all Santa Clara County high school students. The Teen Council is designed to help elevate the ArtNow program to be more widely accessible and more relevant to high school students living across Santa Clara County. This is a paid internship opportunity. Through establishing the Teen Council, NUMU hopes to build a stronger partnership with student artists so that they aren’t just the recipients of the ArtNow program, but its architects.

Applications for the ArtNow Teen Council are always open. The ArtNow Teen Council operates on a rotation of two cohorts per ArtNow cycle - the Winter Cohort and the Summer Cohort.

Apply by June 30, 2024 to be considered for the 2024 Summer Cohort. If you apply after June 30, your application will be considered for the next cohort.

Cohort Duties & Timelines

The ArtNow Teen Council operates on a rotation of two cohorts per ArtNow cycle - the Winter cohort and the Summer cohort. Each cohort presides over a different set of duties that support the production and execution of ArtNow. Browse and compare the descriptions and timelines of each cohort to learn more about which cohort you are most interested in.

  • The Summer Cohort is in essence the “implementation” cohort of the Teen Council. Students interested in this cohort apply in June and final participants are notified in July. This cohort of students is responsible for the ideation of the exhibition’s theme, development of promotional and educational materials for the program, sharing them with fellow students, and supporting outreach and programming efforts for ArtNow. Additional volunteering opportunities are available for students in this cohort who are looking to build more experience and deepen their relationship with the museum.
