In partnership with genARTS Silicon Valley, we are proud to announce the 4th Annual Experimental Exhibition, on view at NUMU from Fri, July 19 through Sun, October 6. In this juried show, artists from across Santa Clara County, ages 18+, were invited to create a work of art exploring the Boundaries in their world. We received 180+ submissions, of which, 74 artists will be on view.

We invited submissions of painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, and mixed media. As an “experimental” exhibition, we encourage artists, emerging or otherwise, to reach beyond and think unconventionally. We highly encourage artists to create a piece in response to the theme or submit one that hasn’t been exhibited before and has been created within the past three years.

Submit a work that examines the boundaries that exist in your world, be they self-imposed, societally, or politically created. How do boundaries manifest? How can individuals and artists move beyond boundaries? Explore the diverse ways in which boundaries can both connect us and separate us.

Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly. Submissions may explore physical borders, emotional boundaries, societal divisions, and beyond. Your work may navigate the theme through the lens of setting boundaries, breaking barriers, or redefining limits. This exhibition aims to foster a dialogue on the multifaceted nature of boundaries.

Pamela Walsh

Pamela Walsh Gallery was founded in 2019, opening only 4 months before the pandemic shelter-in-place. We are located in the heart of downtown Palo Alto, CA in an historic building designed by Stanford architect Birge Clark in 1929. The gallery represents a talented and diverse roster of contemporary artists and the Nathan Oliveira Estate. In our first 4 years, we have proudly hosted solo exhibitions for renowned Bay Area artists such as Bruce Beasley and amplified the voices of emerging and mid-career artists. Our current exhibition, Reclamation: Womxn Reshaping Figures, is a dynamic group show of 20 female and non-binary artists who explore the human form. Pamela Walsh Gallery is committed to fostering the artistic development and career advancement of our artists. Pamela Walsh Gallery is an active member of the San Francisco Art Dealers Association since 2021, with Pamela currently serving on the Board of Directors.

This exhibition is made possible by the generous support of the Borgenicht Foundation, SVCreates in partnership with the County of Santa Clara, and Blick Art Materials.
