NUMU’s Meet the Artist series is a monthly public program that introduces exhibiting artists and their practice to the New Museum Los Gatos community.
This December, we are pleased to introduce Lauryl Gaumer, San Francisco-based metalsmith, glassblower, and jeweler. Her work can be viewed as a part of In the Artist’s Studio through January 24, 2021. We will learn about how Gaumer uses a combination of precious metals and glass to build pieces that interact with the female form, and speak to the cultural conditioning and restrictive representation that women face today.
