NUMU is pleased to collaborate with California College of the Arts (CCA) to offer a preparatory program led by CCA Admissions staff who will provide guidelines and tips on what to expect on National Portfolio Day 2020. CCA staff will also conduct portfolio reviews for students interested in applying to CCA.
Practice artistic observational skills and produce highly realistic drawings in a studio environment. Lessons will include classical methods of rendering form in graphite, charcoal and chalk on a variety of papers. These skills are applicable to all areas of art, including modern digital media.
Max capacity: 8 students. Pre-registration Required.
Join us for a morning of art and artist demonstrations. Learn tips for writing your own artist statement and framing your own artwork. On the way to a pizza lunch, you will see how exhibits are installed in a behind-the-scenes tour of Selfie, which opens January 21. Artist Danny Scheible will provide an introduction to the art of Tapigami, in a "Make it Stick" collaborative group activity. Registration is limited. In this fourth annual county-wide competition, New Museum Los Gatos asks Santa Clara County students to visually communicate their ideas and thoughts about this year's theme, BRIDGES" Facing Challenges.
Student artists will gain real-world experience presenting their work in a competitive environment and exhibiting in a museum setting. A jury of three university-level artist-educators will select works to be included in the exhibition.
