The park field trip location will be announced by the first night of class, and carpooling will be encouraged.

Are you new to the area or curious about the natural world in your own backyard? This new educational program for adults will introduce participants to the natural history of Santa Clara County Park lands with an emphasis on local geology, botanical communities, and wildlife. Evening courses will include twilight hikes, science investigations, brief lectures, and nature journaling. To complete the Neighborhood Naturalist certificate program, participants will be asked to create a community service project to enhance nature awareness/protection in their own neighborhoods. 

The program will be led by park staff and master naturalists.
