New Museum Los Gatos and Content Magazine are hosting a unique, artful evening to celebrate Content Magazine’s release of issue 14.4 "Profiles." The night will include an activation by NUMU's inaugural Artist in Resident Alexander Hernandez, and viewing of Kathy Aoki's exhibition, Koons Ruins at the James Estate and Marie Cameron's exhibition Critical Masses, A Very Low Tide. Additional art will be displayed by 14.4 Featured Artists Nicholaus James Dalton, Vanessa Niembro de Paz, Ricardo Cortez, and Amy Hibbs. Come enjoy the art, music, activations, performances, and company of our vibrant arts community.

This is a free event though donations are appreciated. All Content Members will receive 1 drink ticket upon arrival.
Program Line-up
The evening will spotlight NUMU’s Exhibiting Artists Alexander Hernandez, Marie Cameron and Kathy Aoki, as well as Content Magazine’s featured artists Amy Hibbs, Dana Harris Seeger, Nicholaus James Dalton, and Ricardo Cortez. Music will be provided by Needle to the Groove @needletothegrooverecords . NUMU is excited to present drag performers Jota Mercury and Frida Mont, curated by our Exhibiting Artist in Residence Alexander Hernandez, who will be performing to songs referenced by Alexander in the exhibition Retazos.
Jota Mercury (he/they)
Jota (pronounced HO-TAH) Mercury is an international award winning drag performer who uses drag to challenge machismo as we know it. They are Mexican-American and Indigenous, originally from Fresno, California but now entertaining crowds in the greater bay area for the past 5 years. You may recognize him performing alongside his drag brothers in the following troupes: Rebel Kings of Oakland, Yeah Girl, and Nine Inch Males. He’s participated in global competitions, going as far as Panama City, Panama to perform his El Rey act for the Panama Burlesque Festival. They are currently 48hills.org Best Drag King of the Bay, reigning alongside Nicki Jizz as 48hills Best Drag Queen of the Bay.

Proof of up to date covid vaccination will be required to enter the museum. Masks are required for all staff and guests while inside the museum. However, they are optional in all outdoor spaces.
