Live from NUMU - You’re In the Artist’s Studio! Featuring David Middlebrook
Saturday, October 20th | 2pm-3pm
Free with admission | Free for members | RSVP Required
In the Artist’s Studio featured artist, David Middlebrook will be on site creating a sculptural piece to introduce museum visitors to his creative process. Middlebrook is the featured artist in the museum’s In the Artist's Studio rotating exhibition series presented in the Michael and Alyce Reception Area. In addition to meeting David and seeing him create his artwork, visitors are also invited to view a selection of his sculptural works, art making tools, personal items and photographs of his private studio space, rarely open to the public.
Through this ongoing exhibition series NUMU offers ideas and insight into the practice of artmaking and shares with the community the ingenuity, intelligence and empathy that goes into the creative process. NUMU introduced the series in January 2018 and invites Bay Area artists to be featured in the program. Exhibitions focus on studio practice, process, technique and creative problem solving. Exhibitions rotate every 4-5 months. Middlebrook’s work will be on view through October 21st.
